A Leisurely Stroll in Kay Fay's 'Meanderings' -- New Xlibris Release Brings Out Retired Schoolteacher's Thoughts in Poetry
Friday November 6, 12:20 pm ET

KERRVILLE, Texas, Nov. 6, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Author-poet Kay Fay brings to the literary forefront the thoughts that sometimes cross the mind of a golden-ager with the release of her poetry collection, Meanderings of An Aged Mind, through Xlibris.

In Meanderings, readers will wend their way through a collection told in pleasing rhyme, journeying through the different alleys of life as viewed from a ripened perspective. Fay poetically looks back on her teaching days as she frames a typical bad day for an eighth-grader, the hormone-driven frivolity of teenage girls, and the charmed life of youth. Recognizing the duality of the coin, the author exposes the dark side of being young, touching on the lamentable realities of abortion and violence brought about by parental neglect.

From there, Fay takes off to pursue bigger ideas. She shares her tuneful thoughts on what is happening to the environment and the world, and expresses her feelings on poverty.

After which, Fay turns her thoughts inward, contemplating on her own life, retirement, the joys and pains of marriage, grand-parenting, and the subtle signs of getting on. The author relates in humour and rhyme how a gray hair leads her to think of youth long past and the inevitable role reversals in the progress of old age.

The gentle poet lady reflects upon her spirituality, speaking to God and sending up poetic prayers, at the same time offering a glimpse into her thoughts about the kind of heaven she expects in the afterlife.

Ultimately, Meanderings of An Aged Mind proves to be one woman's sincere and thoughtful exposition on life's phases and the abundant other things in between. For more information on this book, interested parties can log on to www.Xlibris.com.
